Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grand Erie and the Paris Port Dover Pipe Band would like to take a moment and thank Scotiabank for once again this year playing a BIG role in our success at the 2013 Big Pipe Dream fundraising gala. The 3rd annual joint fundraiser, dubbed a “Plaid Tie Affair” was held April 13th at the beautiful Brantford Golf and Country Club. This week, Elaine Bessie officially presented the two non-profit agencies with a cheque for $7,625.00.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grand Erie believes in mentoring children through friendship: our goal is to build life-changing relationships that inspire and empower children and youth to reach their full potential as individuals and local citizens. In 2012 we served 433 children in our community and are on pace to surpass that this year.

The Paris Port Dover Pipe Band believes in mentoring children through music: their goal is to provide young people of any skill level with instruction in Scottish music and give them opportunities to play with the band and act as ambassadors on the local, national and international stage. They currently have 25 youth members.

Thank you again to Elaine Bessie and her staff at the West Brant location, was well as the Lynden Road, downtown Brantford, and Simcoe branches for their support in selling tickets. Because of you over 450 children are getting the opportunity to grow their confidence and reach their full potential.
